Run On May 2nd to Rally for Families

Losing an infant is unthinkable for any parent. Support is available for those who have suffered the loss of a baby thanks to Heaven’s Hummingbirds, a perinatal bereavement support group. The group seeks to be a safe haven for families to be heard, be seen, and for their babies to be honored.

Please join in rallying around the mission of Heaven’s Hummingbirds and the bereavement support program at Dignity Health by safely walking, running (or riding) 1 mile or a full 5k on May 2, 2020 marking the first "virtual" Dignity Health Family Remembrance Run. Even more important, look for a hummingbird and take a photo. Registration is open through May 1st for participation. Race "starts" at 7am May2nd.

Emergency Response Fund

This fund was set up in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the declared state of emergency. You will be taking care of our patients and the entire caregiving team with your donation.

Thank you to a few of the first donors to lead the way: Edward Jones, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Thank you to our golf sponsors who became emergency response fund donors.  And thank you to the many individuals donating PPE.

State Forty Eight Chooses Dignity Health

Our Foundations are partnering with State Forty Eight on a branded t-shirt recognizing health care workers.  A portion of each shirt purchased comes back to Dignity Health.

For those of you not familiar with State Forty Eight, they are a local company creating popular Arizona-themed shirts.

There are several ways you can support...

Kindness Market

Our teams are working around the clock, which means it can be nearly impossible to find essential items. In an effort to ease this burden, nutrition services opened the ‘Kindness Market’! It’s stocked with staple items like eggs, milk, cheese, flour, rice, beans and bread. It also has toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and disinfectant available. The on-site grocery store isn’t only a time saver, it also allows our team to practice social distancing by avoiding crowds at the supermarket.

Your donation will keep the Kindness Market open and operating at wholesale costs for employees throughout this pandemic, and delivering much-needed items to employees in quarantine. We have established a dedicated COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund to be used to help offset the overwhelming burden of this emergency and provide our Care Givers with everything they need. Please show your support with a Tax Deductible Gift to this cause and comment “kindness market” if you want to donate specifically to this effort.

Amazon Smile

If you are shopping on Amazon during these times of social distancing would you please consider supporting us.  A "wish list" is also available.

Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to our Foundation and right now all monies will go to the Emergency Reponse fund to help caregivers and patients.

Support a Caregiver

Dignity Health East Valley Foundation supports Chandler Regional Medical Center (2,500 employees) and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (1,800 employees) and accompanying urgent care centers.  We have had many calls from community members wanting to directly support employees and their families. We are so appreciative of your care and concern for our team members. Here are a few options:

HERO Fund: Helping Employees Reach others can take donations to support employees who find themselves in financial need. Emloyees apply to the human resources department. (This is not considered by the IRS to be a tax-deductible gift.)

Kindness Market: Employees at the hospitals can shop on-site for essential groceries and household items. Your gift would enable the hospitals to continue to provide the essentials at wholesale cost to employees.

Meals for Caregivers: The Foundation receives your donation of gift cards from your favorite restaurant and gives them to the team leader to coordinate a safe time for delivery of commercially-prepared food.

Your donation can purchase internal Starbucks or Kindness Cafe gift cards to share with teams, in this way we are benefitting care teams and the food service teams. Snacks such as gatorade or protein bars are also greatly appreciated.

Our Foundation team safely coordinates donations in partnership with Supply Management. We can provide additional information and we appreciate all of your generosity and kindly ask that you DO NOT bring items nor food into our hospitals or patient care settings:

Please comment Market, Meals or Heros, if you want to donate specifically to one of these efforts.
