Over $1 million invested!

Over a million reasons to give thanks...

Mardi Gras was the inspiration for the Foundation’s event of the year.  Dancing with Dignity was held November 2 at the Chandler Center for the Arts. Over 700 guests, some in costume, were treated to an evening of food and music reminiscent of iconic New Orleans at this masquerade style gala.

The highlight of the evening was the dance show where teams of volunteers and their professional dance teachers teamed up for a competition rivaling the well-known television dance show. Click here to see the winning dancers and how successful this year’s event was thanks to the dancers, the many volunteers and sponsors, including a big “Thank you!” to our major event sponsors:  Wells Fargo, Encompass Health, and the Dignity Health Medical Group.

Also, a special note of gratitude to Shawn Nerdahl and Terri Lamb for the creation of this event and for their 5 years of continued, dedicated support of the stroke survivors. Your passion is unmatched!  In the 5 years since it's creation, donations from the event have funded support for people who have survived stroke, brain tumors, cancer, the loss of a loved one .. and more.  Your generosity is great cause to be very Thankful!

Athletic Trainers Program
Many thanks to Fiesta Bowl Charities for their recent donation to our Athletic Trainer Program!  This photo is of Chandler High School football players, athletic trainers and Dignity Health staff celebrating the gift from the Fiesta Bowl at a recent game. This grant will do so much to fund trainers in our high schools. Read about Fiesta Bowl’s mission and Dignity Health’s commitment to safety in youth sports.

Fashion, Food and Holiday Shopping for a Cause

Fashion and Shopping for a great cause were the themes of the evening at the “It’s in the Bag Soiree,” presented by the ladies of the Power of the Purse at Dillard’s in Chandler Fashion Center. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, an amazing fashion show, private shopping and a handbag drawing.  This signature POP event was once again a great success with 10% of all sales going to the Foundation.

Thank you to everyone who donated for the drawing and volunteered to make the private shopping experience so much fun! It was a truly a great way to begin the holiday season while raising money for our worthy projects.  Thank you to Northern Trust for sponsoring the desserts!

Community Health Care Partner: McCarthy Construction

The most common injuries seen at our Level 1 Trauma Center at Chandler Regional Medical Center are those resulting from motor vehicle accidents. A majority of these accidents involve drivers being distracted or impaired, mostly within the 16-20 year old age group. As part of our community outreach the team is creating a comprehensive program to educate the public on the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. "Dignity Doesn't Drive Distracted" or "D4" will utilize up-to-date trauma registry data, technology such as driving goggles, an electronic go-kart and real-world scenarios to change driving behaviors in our young people.  McCarthy Construction will proudly display their logo on the trailer as one of this year's community health care partners.  Thank you to the team and sponsors!
