NOvEMBEr 2018
The weekend is fast approaching, but there is still time to purchase tickets for the gala. Do not pass up a chance to attend our event of the year where you will experience the excitement and energy of a fantastic group of volunteer dancers. This year we are honored to have first responders dancing with Chandler Police and Gilbert Fire Departments providing teams. You will be in awe of the talent on display as participants vie for the top spot in a dance competition (think “Dancing with the Stars”). The evening will kick off with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. followed by an enticing dinner. Local dignitaries will serve as judges and the dance floor opens at 9 p.m.

Our work would not be possible without the generosity of sponsors and volunteers who happily offer their time and resources to support programs and events such as our Dancing with Dignity 2018. So, a huge “Thank You!” is in order for those who are making this annual gala benefiting neuro-wellness a reality once again: such as United Surgical Partners, Envision Physician Services, Encompass Health, Mercy Care, Air Methods - Native Air, Phoenix Children's, OrthoArizona - the Southeast Valley Co-Management Group, Layton Construction, Chandler Anesthesia Consultants, Heart Health Organization and the Medical Staff.

Lastly, we cannot overlook our volunteer dancers who not only are investing hours of their time in dance practice, but also raising money for such a great cause - come support them!

Annual Honors

The President's Reception to honor donors was hosted by Foundation President Aaron Peace and hospital President Mark Slyter at Chase Field during a Diamondbacks game against the Dodgers. The evening was a celebration of the people and organizations who give selflessly of their time and money to sustain and grow our programs. This year’s awards went to several deserving individuals, most notably Jack Martin-Board Member of the Year, Holly Mesnard-Philanthropist of the Year 2018 and Dr. Hassan Akinbiyi-Physician Champion 2018. In addition to these distinctions, the Marreel Award was bestowed upon eleven recipients chosen from among physicians, employees or volunteers who were recognized by patients, their families and recipients’ peers for their outstanding service and compassionate care.

A big “Thank You” to the 300 plus runners who recently participated in Heroes in Health Care 5k Run at Freestone Park in Gilbert. Fearless attitudes and athleticism were on display as these Super Heroes joined in on a variety of runs, and raised over $15,000! Attendees of all ages also enjoyed the fun-filled activities on this beautiful fall day. The Foundation also wants to let our sponsors Bright Health, Hanger Clinic and Native Air know how grateful we are for their support. Their generosity assists us in putting on events like this one that benefit our programs. We are blessed to have heroes in our lives that are committed to promoting the best in health care for the communities served by Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers.  Learn more about the winning teams!

In addition to the Groundbreaking Celebration, we are coordinating a humankindness building perimeter photo opportunity.   This is a unique occasion to recognize the significance of this project and the ultimate human impact it will have for families in the East Valley and beyond.  It would be truly breathtaking to have hundreds of our supporters and community members participate in this humankindness “chain.”  Everyone is invited to arrive (no earlier than 7 a.m.) and take part in the photo outlining the enormity of this historic project.  Please arrive at 7:15 a.m. to form a human line around the perimeter.  A photographer will be flying over in a helicopter at 7:40 a.m. Everyone will then reconvene at the Registration Tent by 8:00 a.m. for the groundbreaking ceremony.  The program will begin by 8:30 a.m. For questions or information, please call the Foundation.
