D-backs Fund Traveling Resiliency Room for East Valley Healthcare Workers

Appeal Banner

The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation is investing in a mobile “Nurse Resilience Room.” The traveling room will provide a space where hospital staff can take a break and recharge. This room will debut in early 2023 and will be equipped with massage chairs, a therapy table, adjustable lighting, sound and visual stimulation, and aromatherapy. The traveling room concept was conceived by leaders in the hospital as a way to reach the over 5,000 staff who work in all our hospitals, urgent care facilities and freestanding emergency departments. We are grateful for the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation’s support of our health care workers and are excited to debut the traveling room in the near future.

The NICU Teams Memorialize Dr. James C. Zozobrado

Dr. James C. Zozobrado, FAAP, was a compassionate and caring neonatologist and natural-born teacher with the gift of patience. Dr. Zozobrado recently served Dignity Health as the Medical Director and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers.

He was instrumental in developing Chandler Regional Medical Center’s Level II NICU. He loved working with the physicians and nurses which he lovingly referred to as his "Dignity Family" and they loved him in return.

To honor the memory of Dr. Zozobrado a wind chime will hang in the Butterfly Garden at Chandler Regional and a leaf will be placed in the Healing Garden at Mercy Gilbert.
