Arizona Rattlers

Honorary Captain Donald Watkins and his wife, Maude

Donald Watkins was the Honorary Captain at a recent Arizona Rattler’s Game. It was a great time for him, as he is an active guy who has always been involved in Parks and Recreation as a career – until just over a year ago when a stroke put him on the sidelines. He is participating in the incredible neuro-rehab programs with Dignity Health to achieve his two main goals, which are: to once again be able to cook breakfast for his family, which was always his key job, and to get back on the golf course.

This sports mentality gives Donald determination and willpower, he is an incredible example of stroke recovery after his emergency trip to Dignity Health last year, followed by many days in rehab with HealthSouth.  Donald received excellent care and therapy that allowed him to go home and enjoy his family and friends once again.

Donald and his wife Maude are so happy to celebrate as Honorary Captain with the Arizona Rattler’s this season and, also in April,  he will be making a return trip to the golf course as a participant in the Dignity Health Foundation East Valley’s sponsored event “Savings Stroke” at Whirlwind Golf Course.

Donald – no matter your golf score – you are a winner!
