Eat, Sleep, Console Program
Help Us Transform a Hospital Stay into a Healing Embrace for Mothers and Babies
Every mother deserves the chance to nurture her baby in a calm, supportive environment. For mothers and newborns affected by Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), however, the journey begins with additional challenges. At Chandler Regional Medical Center, we are on a heartfelt mission to reimagine hospital care through the Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) program—providing a warm, family-centered approach that prioritizes comfort, connection, and healing for both mother and child.
The Difference You Can Make
Imagine welcoming a new life while coping with the effects of opiate exposure—often in a clinical, unfamiliar setting. Babies born with NAS face unique challenges, and their first days should be filled with calm and connection rather than isolation and harsh lighting. With your support, we can create a haven that feels more like home: soft lighting, cozy bedding, and comforting spaces that enable the tender moments every family needs to thrive.
The Power of the ESC Program
Our ESC program allows mothers (or caregivers) to remain bedside, fostering physical closeness, calming touch, and nurturing interactions that aid in withdrawal recovery without separating mother and baby. Instead of long, solitary days in a nursery, these babies are in the warm embrace of their mother, in an environment focused on love, security, and healing.
But to truly transform their experience, we need your help. Our vision includes new furniture, soothing décor, and essentials like swings, carriers, and diaper bags for families as they transition home. These items are more than furnishings; they create a supportive, therapeutic space that brings lasting relief and hope to mothers and newborns at their most vulnerable.
Why Your Support Matters
In the past, babies with NAS often faced extended stays—up to 62 days—separated from their mothers and treated with medications. With ESC, we bring mother and baby together in a healing environment from the very start, reducing stress and withdrawal symptoms naturally through comfort, quiet, and continuous care. Babies now typically stay between 5 to 14 days, with a caregiver’s dedicated attention and the comfort of a loving presence.
Your gift can help us create these essential, intimate spaces where families can bond, heal, and feel uplifted. Every dollar you give helps provide a brighter beginning for mothers and newborns fighting for a chance at a healthy, loving start together. Please join us in making a difference during one of the most fragile times of life.
