Our Story

The Women’s Philanthropic Society, called Power of the Purse, was established in 2014 as a new sustainable philanthropic arm of the Dignity Health Foundation East Valley to encourage and connect women to philanthropic projects important to the health and well-being of women and their families in the Southeast Valley.

Our Mission

To raise awareness and support for concerns important to the health and well-being of women and families in the Southeast Valley.

Women’s Philanthropic Society Call to Action

The Women's Philanthropic Society is a lot of fun, has a sense of deep purpose and is called the "Power of the Purse."  The members established three goals:

  • Cultivating women as philanthropic leaders
  • Creating a new sustainable philanthropic arm of the Foundation that empowers women to raise awareness of health care concerns that touch their families and community in the Southeast Valley
  • Celebrating the impact of charitable giving that comes directly from leadership of our Women’s Society
