Joe Anglim had his life change in a way he never expected.  A former high school basketball athlete and current volleyball player, Joe was on a personal journey to become a firefighter/EMT to help others, following in the footsteps of many of his caring family members.  A chance to be on Survivor Season 30 – World’s Apart – forever changed his life.  Now he wants to share his spiritual growth with others.

A local guy, the survivors at Dignity Health caught his attention through family friends and he was hooked!  “I want to meet the real survivors,” Joe said, “I am on a mission to share stories of health, wellness and overcoming challenges. I particularly want to share learnings with the youth.”

Joe will be an ambassador spreading the word that stroke can affect anyone at any age.  He will also share “Life After Stroke” stories or making a “new normal” for yourself after life has given you a challenge.  He is currently a motivational speaker and entreprenuer, however, he never strays far from his roots of wellness and helping others.

In fact, Joe became impassioned after coming to Dignity Health and seeing patients and fans from the television phenomenon Survivor.  The stories he heard and people he met were so moving, that he has agreed to serve as a Celebrity Judge at the 3rd Annual Dancing for Stroke 2017. Joe will bring his Survivor fame and fan base to support stroke survivors.

Since the volunteer dancers are raising money to support neuro-wellness programs such as:  support groups, stroke camp, adaptive sports, and hippotherapy, Joe decided to become a volunteer judge and fundraiser too!

He has a little bit of a fundraising head start, since he is willing to auction off his SURVIVOR buff, t-shirt, photographs – and yes, even the ever-elusive, ever-popular TREE MAIL straight from Survivor Show #30 – World’s Apart.    Join the auction now or donate to support patients.

Many thanks to Joe Anglim and the entire Anglim family for joining our tribe!
