On November 2nd, the Chandler Center for the Arts was transformed into a Mardi Gras-themed masquerade ball for the Dignity Health Foundation East Valley's signature event Dancing with Dignity 2019. The gala is held annually. It began to support nationally recognized neurological programs at Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers. We are proud to report that this year was another great success with over 700 in attendance and donations now supporting neuro-wellness programs, plus oncology, infant breavement, brain tumor patients and more.

Guests enjoyed cocktails and Louisiana inspired Creole cuisine followed by a “Dancing with the Stars” style show featuring professional ballroom dancers from Arizona Ballroom Champions who teamed up with volunteers. Dancers performed before a lively audience and a panel of celebrity judges who cast their votes for the The Best in Show. Chandler and Gilbert Police and Fire also brought their own teams, with Chandler Police capturing the first place title among first responders!

Dancing with Dignity’s popularity has grown over the years, raising over $1 million to date, and enabling the Foundation to expand its outreach beyond its initial stroke camps to helping patients with Parkinson’s, brain tumors, cancer, head injuries and more.

A big “Thank you!” to our major event sponsors:  Wells Fargo, Encompass Health, and the Dignity Medical Group.

Also, a special note of gratitude to Shawn Nerdahl and Terri Lamb for the creation of this event and for their 5 years of continued, dedicated support. Your passion is unmatched!

Finally, we cannot forget our first responders, Chandler and Gilbert Police and Fire! Thank you for all you do for our community and for your enthusiastic participation in this event. You rock!
